Sermorelin is a synthetic fragment of growth hormone–releasing hormone, specifically the first 29 amino acids of GHRH. It binds the GHRH receptor on the pituitary and prompts the gland to release its own growth hormone, rather than supplying growth hormone directly.

Adult “anti-aging,” fat-loss, and performance uses are off-label.

t is given by subcutaneous injection, usually at night. Side effects can include injection-site reactions, flushing, headache, and, less often, changes in glucose or thyroid function. It is not the same as recombinant growth hormone, which carries much higher risks of blood sugar issues.
