At Serenity Healthcare, Addiction Services is our passion. We want to help you get off the street and on the road to recovery and wellness. We know what you are going through and you will never be judged. Some of you may know the owner of Serenity Health lost his brother to fentanyl. This is why we are so passionate about keeping you from losing a loved one or helping you stay with your loved ones.

Let me tell you what makes Serenity different from other addiction providers. At Serenity we don't just treat addiction. We are holistic providers meaning we treat everything including all of your mental health needs, in one place, in one visit. We also provide you with primary care during that visit if you so choose.

Why is this important? When you walk into a typical addiction clinic that does one thing only, addiction, people know why you are there, you are stigmatized and judged by onlookers. When you walk into Serenity, no one knows why you are here because we do everything at Serenity from primary care to DOT physicals. You are safe, your issues are kept private, no one knows if you are here for hypertension or addiction.

We also take almost all insurances, unlike most of our competition. Insurances we accept include all BCBS plans, AMbetter, United Healthcare, Cigna, Aetna, most SC Medicaid plans, and all Medicare PPO plans.

To top all of this off, if you don't have insurance our visit price is only $85 which includes all of your mental health and primary care in one visit. NOBODY can beat our price. Addiction is a disease, just like diabetes, so why should you be charged more for treating your disease?

Call now, we get people suffering from addiction in THE SAME DAY! Monday Through Friday. None of our competitors can do that!

Ketamine Infusion Services

Serenity is now offering Ketamine infusion services. I want to say up front that our providers have received special training and are certified to give these infusions. If you live close to an infusion clinic and are thinking about ketamine therapy make sure the person providing it is certified!

So what is ketamine and what does it do. Ketamine is used for anesthesia but more and more research is coming out showing how sub-anesthetic doses of ketamine can help with mood and pain disorders.

How does it work? Without getting too technical Ketamine acts on the NMDA receptors in the brain which are partially responsible for mood. In some people who have "treatment resistant depression" it could be because the drugs we have today don't work on the NMDA receptor. It has also been theorized that Ketamine helps the brain form new neural pathways. At this point it is all theoretical and using Ketamine for the treatment of depression and pain is considered Off-Label use.

Because it is off-label, insurance does not cover it and it is quite expensive. To treat mood disorders an infusion costs $250 and you need 6 infusions over the first month, then 1 infusion every 2 weeks in month 2, then 1 infusion monthly on average. That's $2000 to get started and then $250 a month to maintain. Mood disorder infusions take about 45 minutes to complete, expect to spend about an hour and a half in the office.

Pain is harder to treat and requires much higher doses. The infusions run $750 each and you need a series of 3 to 5 loading doses in the first week. That's $2250 to $3750 in the first week alone. Then one infusion weekly for 4 weeks, then a maintenance infusions approximately every 4 weeks.  Pain infusions require 4 hours in the chair so expect total time for each visit to run 5 hours.

The good news is that compounding pharmacies are beginning to make nasal sprays and lozenges that can be used for the maintenance phase of treatment. You still need to get the loading series done and some people may choose to try this option. All of this will be discussed before your treatment begins.

Anyone interested in Ketamine infusions will have a scheduled  telephone conference. This is a requirement for anyone interested in Ketamine Therapy. You must have been diagnosed by a mental health specialist and copies of those records will be obtained and reviewed by Serenity's providers before deciding if Ketamine therapy is appropriate for you.
